Kyle Brooks COC

Kyle Brooks developed a curiosity about TCM and Five Element Theory while teaching in China in 1991 and 1992.  She began studying Ohashiatsu© in March 2006. She was an advanced intern with Ohashiatsu© Maryland and graduated from the Ohashi Institute in 2008.  She approaches her practice with compassion and a sense of awe for the body; This particular form of body work, for Kyle, has combined theory, practice and passion in a most satisfying way.She hopes to share and work with others so that they become more aware of the healing abilities in their own mind/body.
Kyle currently practices at Ohashiatsu Maryland in Ellicott City, Maryland and at Coreworks Fitness Studio in Columbia, Maryland.

Laurie Russell COC

A 2008 graduate of the Ohashi Institute, Laurie began her training at Ohashiatsu® Maryland in 2007.  Laurie has a graduate degree in chemistry and works as a research chemist in the photoconductor and solar energy industries. She is a certified massage therapist in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Through her massage practice, she realized that all therapeutic body work must have meaning, intent and compassion.  She found all three in Ohashiatsu® where the beauty of the movement is combined with Five Element and Meridian theories. For Laurie, Ohashiatsu® is all about sharing and as a Certified Ohashiatsu® Consultant, she enjoys introducing others to the healing and calming benefits of Ohashiatsu®.

Paula Derry COC

Paula Derry began studying at Ohashiatsu® Maryland in 2006 and graduated in 2008.  She is a Ph.D. health psychologist with a long-standing interest in development during adulthood, especially in people feeling centered, empowered, embodied, able to move forward in their lives, safe, and able to manage stress.
Much of her work has involved looking at how professionals and their clients think about health issues, with an aim of creating positive ways of thinking.  She sees being a COC, attending to the body and spirit, as an important component of work as a holistic health consultant.   Many of the people she works with tell her that her hands are both powerful and nurturing, which energize and uplift.
